HP ProBook: Budget Line vs. EliteBook

ProBook and EliteBook are both HP business laptops, but they differ in level and design.

ProBook — Not a Budget Version of EliteBook

Although both lines target the business segment, ProBook (450, 650, 6570b, etc.) uses different components than EliteBook from the same period — it's a parallel line, not a simplified version of the same model. Parts between ProBook and EliteBook are almost never interchangeable.

Within the ProBook Line

Like EliteBook, ProBook has an older numbering system (6570b) and a newer one (450 G-series) — the same principle applies: the G-generation number is as important for part selection as the model itself.

A Common Customer Misconception

"ProBook and EliteBook are both HP business series, so their parts should be similar" — these are separate product lines with different internal designs.
