Speakers: placement, power, connector

Built-in laptop speakers are a component often damaged by liquid or mechanical impact.

What determines speaker compatibility

  • Speaker placement and housing shape — under the palm rest, in the side panel, or
on the bottom — depends on the specific model's design.
  • Connector to the board — number of pins and connector type.
  • Power (W) and impedance (Ohm) — electrical parameters must match
the sound amplifier on the board.

Single speaker or stereo pair

Most laptops have two speakers (stereo), symmetrically placed — usually sold as a pair, not separately, because the right and left parts have a mirrored housing shape.

Common customer mistakes

  • "The sound is quiet or distorted — I definitely need new speakers" — the cause
is often sound settings in the system or a damaged connector on the board, not the speaker itself.
  • "I'll buy a more powerful speaker for better sound" — the amplifier on the board
is designed for a specific power range; an incompatible speaker may distort the sound or not work at all.

How to choose speakers from us

Provide the exact laptop model — speakers are almost always selected in pairs for a specific model.
