Grade A/B/C: Rating System in Detail
Our rating system for used laptops — criteria for each grade.
Three Rating Levels
- Grade A — almost like new, with no visible signs of use
- Grade B — light scratches on the casing, flawless display
- Grade C — noticeable signs of use, fully functional — a cost-effective option
What is Assessed
- Cosmetic condition of the casing (scratches, scuffs, dents)
- Display condition (absence of dead pixels, spots, scratches on the matrix)
- Keyboard and touchpad condition (worn keys, touchpad sensitivity)
- Technical condition of the battery (more details in the article about batteries — 75-80% residual capacity threshold for warranty)
Why Grade Does Not Affect Technical Functionality
Regardless of the Grade (A/B/C), the device undergoes the same technical inspection before sale — the only difference is in the cosmetic condition. Grade C does not imply worse technical condition, only more pronounced cosmetic signs of use.
How Grade Relates to Warranty
All devices, regardless of Grade, receive the same 12-month warranty (details in a separate article about warranty terms) — Grade only affects the price and cosmetic appearance, not warranty obligations.
