What does "high/low confidence" mean in compatibility assessment?

Our compatibility system labels each result with a confidence level — here's what that means in practice.

Why label the confidence level?

Not every part in our catalog has equally reliable information about compatible models — some are confirmed by a direct MPN match, while others are inferred indirectly. Instead of hiding this uncertainty, we show it directly to the customer.

What each level means

  • High — compatibility is confirmed by a direct MPN match or official manufacturer specification.
  • Medium — compatibility is determined by a combination of indirect indicators (model name in product description, comparison with known sources).
  • Low — there is a partial match, but additional verification is needed before ordering.
  • Not found — automatic selection yielded no result; compatibility needs to be clarified manually.

What to do with low confidence

If you see a product marked with low confidence or "not found" — it doesn't mean the part won't fit, but it does mean you should provide us with the exact model and, if possible, the MPN of the old part before ordering, so we can check manually.

Why we don't hide uncertain results

Hiding uncertain matches would mean showing the customer fewer products than are actually available — instead, we prefer transparency with a clear disclaimer where needed.
