Covers and Bezels: LCD Back Cover, Service Hatches

External decorative and protective elements that often break during careless repairs.

LCD Back Cover

The back cover of the display assembly protects the LCD panel from the outside and often integrates Wi-Fi antennas. Damage to this cover during disassembly is one of the most common reasons for inquiries after unsuccessful DIY repairs.

Bezel (Frame around the LCD)

A plastic or metal frame that surrounds the LCD panel from the front, concealing mounting screws. Often has a cutout for a webcam specific to a particular model — not interchangeable between models with different camera placements.

Service Hatches

Removable panels on the bottom cover for quick access to RAM/SSD/battery without full case disassembly — the shape and fasteners are model-specific.

Typical Customer Mistakes

  • "The LCD back cover is just plastic, any one will do" — integrated Wi-Fi antennas and a camera cutout make the part model-specific.
  • "A broken hatch can just be glued" — a temporary solution; fastening clips are usually single-use and break permanently upon re-removal.
